Chiropractic Care

The bones of the spine -the vertebrae- house and protect the spinal cord. The spinal cord is an extension of the brain and carries information from the brain to the body parts and back to the brain again. Subluxations (or patterns of tension) interfere with the nerves’ ability to transmit this vital information.

The chiropractic adjustment restores nervous system function, allowing the body to express a greater state of health and well-being.

Utilizing the chiropractic technique that is best for your body, I will adjust what needs to be adjusted every visit, and leave all the healthy bones alone. Every human body is unique, and your care should be unique to you! I specialize in a variety of different techniques, including:

Prenatal Chiropractic Care

No matter the stage of pregnancy, chiropractic care supports and prepares the body for the demands of both labor and birth. Chiropractic care helps to ensure that baby has the best possible environment to grow and develop by maintaining optimal pelvic alignment for their delivery into the world.

I have a special interest in prenatal and postpartum care and am certified in the Webster Technique through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA).

The Webster Technique works to establish balance in the pelvis while reducing tension in the uterus and supporting ligaments. This helps provide relief from common pregnancy aches and helps baby move into an optimal position for labor and birth.

Pediatric Chiropractic Care

A child is not adjusted like an adult. There is no cracking, twisting, popping, or bending when adjusting a baby. The amount of pressure used to adjust an infant or child is the amount of pressure you would use to test the ripeness of an avocado or tomato! In general, chiropractic kiddos smile throughout the adjustment and sometimes sleep right through it! Gentle techniques are tailored to your child’s individual concerns and age range.

During any stage of growth, children may encounter a number of different issues. Regular chiropractic visits allow their bodies to grow, thrive, and meet their developmental milestones. It is never too early to bring your kiddo in for a chiropractic assessment. It is easier to grow healthy children than it is to fix broken adults.

WHAT DOES THE CACCP MEAN?

The CACCP, or Certification by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics, is a certification through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) providing specialty training in pediatric chiropractic care. The program consists of 200 hours of post-doctorate training designed to expand professional ability in adjusting techniques, evaluation, and assessment of different stages of development: from pregnancy, birth, infancy, and throughout childhood. The courses are packed with the latest research to contribute to a culture of evidence-informed practice.
